Privacy Policy

App: Auditorium Audiobook Player Effective date: 12 July 2026

Auditorium is an audiobook player. Your audiobooks and your listening stay on your device. We do not require an account or login, and we do not sell your data. This policy explains the limited information the app handles.

Your audiobooks stay on your device

The audiobook files you add, your library, bookmarks, notes, and playback positions are stored locally on your device. We never upload, copy, or transmit your audiobook files to any server.

Read-along / subtitles (on-device)

The read-along feature transcribes audio into text so you can follow along. This transcription runs entirely on your device using an on-device speech model. Your audio is never uploaded and the generated transcripts are stored only on your device. No audio or transcript content is sent to us or any third party.

Information we collect

To keep the app reliable, we collect limited, aggregated and anonymized technical information through Google’s Firebase services:

• Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports and diagnostic data (e.g. device model, OS version, app version, and the technical state at the time of a crash) so we can fix problems.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymized usage patterns (e.g. which features are used and general app activity) to help us improve the app.

This data does not identify you personally and does not include the contents of your audiobooks, transcripts, bookmarks, or notes.

Permissions the app uses

• Storage / file access — to let you pick folders and read the audiobook files you choose. The app only accesses the locations you select.
• Notifications — to show media playback controls and progress.

The app does not record from your microphone and does not access your contacts, location, or photos.

In-app purchases

Purchases (to unlock features) are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — Google handles all payment information under its own privacy policy.

App updates

Update checks and downloads are handled by Google Play’s in-app update service. We do not operate our own update server.

Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Data retention

Anonymized diagnostic and usage data is retained only as long as needed to operate and improve the app, in accordance with Firebase’s retention settings. All your personal content (library, bookmarks, notes, transcripts) lives on your device and is removed when you delete it or uninstall the app.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

Analytics collection is optional. In the EU, EEA, and UK we ask for your consent before collecting any usage data. You can turn analytics on or off at any time with the “Share anonymous usage data” switch in Settings, and withdrawing consent takes effect immediately. You can also stop all data collection by uninstalling the app through your device’s standard procedure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
